did you try to send it to one of the good guys?

Can't light leaks be fixed?

I bought it from Tamarkin and sent it back on warranty to be fixed. They did but the problem re-appeared immediately. Since I live in Europe and didn't want to have to ship it across the Atlantic for repeated warranty repairs I decided to return it.

I am really surprised. Light leaks of M3's are always curable to my knowledge. At a price of course, but curable are they.

I don't doubt that Tamarkin could have fixed it but at a certain point it became silly to ship the camera to the U.S. It coincided with me wanting to have a light meter in-camera and 35mm framelines which also figured in my decision to return it. Dan Tamarkin was great, though, and fully understood my decision.
