Didn't know there was something incurable on these cameras. 😕
did you try to send it to one of the good guys?

Can't light leaks be fixed?

I bought it from Tamarkin and sent it back on warranty to be fixed. They did but the problem re-appeared immediately. Since I live in Europe and didn't want to have to ship it across the Atlantic for repeated warranty repairs I decided to return it.

I am really surprised. Light leaks of M3's are always curable to my knowledge. At a price of course, but curable are they.

Recent new toys are the MP, 35mm Summilux and the Leica meter MR. Not the greatest pic, it was taken on an iPhone I'm ashamed to say.

I don't doubt that Tamarkin could have fixed it but at a certain point it became silly to ship the camera to the U.S. It coincided with me wanting to have a light meter in-camera and 35mm framelines which also figured in my decision to return it. Dan Tamarkin was great, though, and fully understood my decision.
