why taping the illumination window?

I use a piece of dark exposed film if i get the M6-Flare.
This is better! No need to upgrade viewfinder..
Guess the same thing.

Thanks. It took awhile to find the right size bottle cap to make the circle.

Yes, exactly that reason. It has helped quite a bit and the framelines are still bright enough for composing.

I found the fix here: http://leica.nemeng.com/020b.shtml. It does the job until the camera needs servicing, in which case I plan on adding the finder upgrade. The rest of the tape is just user preference.

Nice twist on a classic advert

The Pentax MX is way smaller than a M.
I had cramp in my hands after using my Pentax MX.
I had to add the winder, which i never powered up!
It helped my hand.
I met another with similar rig, who also never fitted batteries to his winder..
Sadly i sold my MX which needed a service and repair for an EOS.
My M3 stays.
