why taping the illumination window?

I use a piece of dark exposed film if i get the M6-Flare.
This is better! No need to upgrade viewfinder..
Guess the same thing.

Thanks. It took awhile to find the right size bottle cap to make the circle. 😛

Yes, exactly that reason. It has helped quite a bit and the framelines are still bright enough for composing.

I found the fix here: http://leica.nemeng.com/020b.shtml. It does the job until the camera needs servicing, in which case I plan on adding the finder upgrade. The rest of the tape is just user preference. 😀

The Pentax MX is way smaller than a M.
I had cramp in my hands after using my Pentax MX.
I had to add the winder, which i never powered up!
It helped my hand.
I met another with similar rig, who also never fitted batteries to his winder..
Sadly i sold my MX which needed a service and repair for an EOS.
My M3 stays.
