Welcome to RFF, Theo. You'll have to use BBCode instead of Embed to show the picture from Flickr here. Width of 800px to 1024px would be ideal for easy viewing. Alternatively you can copy the image (actual Jpeg) URL and use "Insert Image" within the message window tool bar, but BBCode copy and paste is the simplest way.

new vs old

Dave I have to agree, that is perfect. The best M2. Frankly I miss mine, though I definitely prefer the lever rewind as you have to the button rewind as I had.

Yep, the lever rewind without self-timer is the prettiest, I think. Button rewind is very nice too, but the self-timer I can do without any time

I am also much impressed by the Summaron 2.8, such fine tones with this glass.

Been away from photography for awhile other than typical family photos. Got my lab privileges at the local college back so I decided to break out the old M4 again. This is late 1966 production from the first batch. Got it at Samy's and the lens (DR 5cm Summicron with goggles) came from Sherry Krauter. The half case is from now defunct (I believe) Kameraleder.

Quick cell phone photo.

work in progress. it will end up having an M3 viewfinder from a donor body, as the original VF was toast. All it needs is an M4 style spool. ;)
