I love M6. Brass body like my previous M4, but hey titanium and a meter, that's way cooler. Oh and I received the most beautiful tri Elmar MATE I have ever seen, it's a beauty ^^

M4 are the best!
And apart from being awesome filters, I think B+W hide the model and branding for my taste.
Oh I just bought all those lenses, I just got GAS OMG! (The summicron I had it, never sold it, it just got CLA'd)
And I too have succumbed to the beauty of the SA 21! But with the "other" finder hehe!
Just one more lens I'm waiting to arrive from germany and I should really stop there because there's no money left that is!

Yup, that's an M5 with a Canon 50mm f/1.4 LTM. The IIIf is the taking camera.

Yes, maybe it's time to do a reverse photo, with the M5 as the taking camera. You have a very enviable kit, by the way.

It would indeed be fun to do the reverse setup ^^
Thank you ^^
I just got back to film photography because that's where I fell for photography. Back to the roots.
I am just building my dream kit after years of being a broke young photog
Now that I have a little more allowance finally!
I am just waiting for a Zeiss hologon G16 converted I always dreamed of.
Thank you ^^

Finally can post something in this thread. I just treated my self to a new to me leica M4-2. I had been looking for either an m4 or m2 and this popped up first. My first M camera. Its a second batch m4-2 made in 1979. I had a leica MR4 meter laying around (a gift from a friend but I finally have a use for it Now). reasoning for looking for one of these is it has the 35mm frame lines and I like 35mm lenses. one cool thing is it actually has brass top and bottom plates. I kept seeing good deals on m6 and m4p cameras but the reason was the zinc plates were bubbling up. I do really like this and the build quality feels on par with other M cameras I have borrowed from friends. all this being said I think I would still trade the camera for a good working m2 or even an M3. I think next on my list of lenses Is a good copy of a zeiss sonnar or planar. I am leaning to the planar.any input on that?

I do think the M4-2 is beautiful! And yours looks pretty nice ^^
very close to a M4 black chrome when you put black tape on the branding hehe.
Had a M4-P, and didn't like the red dot on the leatherette.
For some reason I always thought the M4-2 had a zinc top plate, I wonder why now!

yeah I am digging the M4-2 so far. yeah I read that the switched to the zinc top and bottom plates after the m4-2 with the m4p through the M7. I still would love to have an M6 haha. but to be fair I love needle meters. so the mr4 is good. what do you shoot with now? I thought about an m4p actually. I like the 28mm frame lines. maybe I will get one at some point.I do think the M4-2 is beautiful! And yours looks pretty nice ^^

I had a M4 and a M4P. The M4P I had was brass too. Now I shoot with the camera just a few p above this post. It's my dream camera really, I should have bought earlier and not skimp with the more affordable vintage models. Love it to death, every M6 is I guess a real pleasure to use. The finish is just vanity. But the brass top plate is really reminescent of the classic meterless leicas, sharp edge, a nice satin finish, oh god Leicas are so addictive.
If you wear glasses, for 28mm the 0.72 finder is hard to see the framelines. I am used to it though and I just move my eye around a little bit, but a 0.58 finder might be better!
I still use my MATE fine with the M6 at 28mm, not a problem really, just comfort.

thats cool you had a brass one. I have 100% felt a zinc top plate one. your set up is epic! It reminds me of the titanium f3hp from nikon. I had one of those. I think my dream camera would be a leica Mp. its a mix of all my favorite features from the m3, m2, and M6. my second choice would be the Ma. its soo awesome they they came out with that camera this day in age. I wonder why they did not re-manufacture the Mr4 for that one. looks like one would work on it. Right now I am looking for a 50mm. I have a 90 f2 (the huge one) and the voigtlander skopar 35mm. I am actually leaning twards the zeiss planar. good reviews. choice 2 is the voigtlander 50 1.1 because I shoot a lot of low light bar scenes. will see what comes up first.

For the 50mm do you have a preference in look? I was shooting a collapsible Cron in my earlier days and I got hooked by the summicron look, but tried a few 50mm and all have their slightly different look. Lots of options really.
For modern compact I almost switch to summarit 2.4... the Zeiss 1.5 has focus shift and may be troublesome I heard, is that the planar?
There is the 7artisans 1.1 maybe you heard of that one but it looks like the perfect low light cheap lens!

The zeiss 1.5 is the sonnar. I thought about that lens too but I feel like better options. the planar is a f2 lens its i have heard its a good competition for the 50mm summicron. but I have also heard its more of a modern look that I am not sure I am going for. I want a 50 that is good for portraits too. the voigtlander 50mm 1.1 is about the same price used and new as the planar. it just has such polarizing reviews. also I feel like its hard to find examples from this one shot on film. a lot of people in reviews focus on how big and heavy it is. they should try hiking 15miles up a mountain with a nikon f2as and a 50mm 1.2. I like that it does not have a focusing tab i find using those annoying because I am coming from slrs. focusing might be difficult at 1.1 but really I would shoot it at f1.4-2.8. Ironically both the zeiss and voigtlander lenses are made by cosina. I have read good things about the 7 artisans lens. not sure I like that its from china.. not to sound snobby. still might end up with one. hopfully I will get my tax refunds soon and I will pull the trigger on one haha. will post a pic once I get it.

Not wanting to get too far off topic, but the latest CV 1.5/50 is the bees knees of 50s. Nice contrast, no focus shift, beautiful out of focus rendering, great price.
