I have this lens in both Pentax K-mount and Leica thread mount, a favorite for its pleasant rendering. It has 7 elements in 6 groups arranged similarly to Pentax 50mm lenses; half-stops to f/16 with 9 diaphragm blades. Surprisingly longer than the 40mm M-Rokkor, but of course its optics were originally designed for clearing an SLR mirror, glass well-recessed at the rear. Thus it performs very well on digital RF cameras. It is 47.8mm long at infinity with the M bayonet-mount adapter in place. Features a focus tab. Worth noting is modest amount of barrel distortion.
Good to know.

I was lucky enough to find a never used M6 TTL from a couple who had saved it for their kid since 2000. Turns out the kid wasn't interested, so they sold it to me.
The timing couldn't have been better since I had just been ripped off by an online seller, when trying to buy a M6TTL

Delicious.
However, I do wonder if 20-year-old unused lubricants may be a problem. Best to not waste a second longer and start using the camera immediately!
Don't forget to send in the warranty card.

This just arrived yesterday and I couldn't be more excited to use it. Never even seen a Leica M before this purchase! Is it wrong to kinda like the half-gone vulcanite?
It's what made it a good deal, seller claims Leica had serviced it beforehand. Hard to not believe; everything is oh-so smooth, the film advance needs almost nothing to move it. No pinholes in the shutter, speeds sound accurate. Lens is super clear with some dust, but no oily blades.
Leica M2, made in 1964. Lens: Summitar 5cm f/2 (10-blade). Also came with a Leica Meter MR which I'd be happy to use once I get a new battery.

Why not? I think they look much more beautiful with handling marks

Agree. For enjoying pristineness, a person can always look at a photo of a new, unused, camera.

Thank you, he sure did. The wait time was rough but definitely worth it. Alan and his son are maestro's.
