Not trying to be coy here Joe but I would be too embarrassed. Let's just say that everything I was looking for just happened to become available in a 5 day span. I will have to sell to pay for all of this.back alley said:tell us peter...please![]()

Thanks for the comments, fellas. I'm quite taken with the M6 as well. I like the black dot. And the seller was in Montreal so no customs delays!
As for Peter's mystery purchase ... my curiosity has been piqued. Just post a pic. We're not here to judge.

Must be an M1 Peter eh?

Hack.
My Grandpa bought this camera in about 1959 or so. Three generations of eyes have looked through this viewfinder and pressed that shutter button.
I also have 35 and 90 mm lenses, lots of cute little accessories and two light meters. Does anyone know if it's possible to repair the old silver Leicameter MC? I have a black Leicameter MR but the silver is much nicer.

Ben,
That is one gorgeous camera! All the more special because of the family history involved. Use it, take care of it and hand it down to your son/daughter. What a treasure.

Thanks Ron
Yep, she certainly is a special camera. I last used her about ten years ago, and unfortunately she's sat in a box since then and is in dire need of a CLA (and is actually a little more scuffed than appears in the pics above). I'm also hopeful that the lenses clean up ok.

After getting the Leica bug earlier this year I managed to get a M6 TTL .85. About a week ago I got an offer I couldn't refuse on a TTL .58. I have finally decided that they should be put on display. Of course now I am in the crazy position of having two camera but only one lens! Somebody help....

More M6 TTLs
More M6 TTLs
Here are a few more images. The previous owner of the .58 took off the white lettering and replaced the red dot with an LHSA black dot so I am super stealthy (no offense to the chrome lovers out there) which makes me very happy!
