Let's see your Leica M

Nice! Is that half moon shape a dent? looks like a nice finger grip!

I am guessing, but it's probably a shadow casted by the vented hood. What a beautiful camera...

Let's face it, worn black paint leica M are really expensive... It was just a little fantasy of mine as I just love the look of it! It is 100% certain that it won't improve my photography one single millimeter but hey, it just doesn't hurt anyone because I just bought another M4p top (all brass) that I painted then rubbed that way! The original top plate is all intact. the brass is still bright but I don't worry, it will take a day or two for it to darken and all...

So that is my inexpensive black paint leica M: a working M4-P plus
10€ paint and primer
45€ top plate
40€ windows set

Don't try this at home!

I would advise you not to do it. It is dangerous for your camera and after all the M4-P is fine already! I did this because I want the black paint worn leica like those great reporter in a time I wasn't born yet, that's it. Dechroming by yourself is a very dangerous task for you physical integrity too.

My newest M, bought on the net together with a user 35 cron for €950 plus postage.
Eyepiece was missing though, must add another €60 for getting it new from Leica.

Hey folks, just reaching out a little on this quiet Portland evening. It was a great picture taking day with the light and rain coming in and out of view, though I don't have anything to show for it right now. So instead, here's a couple pics of my two favorite cameras (as you all know)...
Gorgeous cameras (and the pictures not too shabby either :) Btw, are those Luigi straps or some other fine leather straps?
