Let's see your Leica M

Just got this beauty back, it was an original black chrome version, top and bottom cover has been repainted to Cobolt color, looks unique and low-profile.

My M6TTL Black Paint is back from Solms having had the MP viewfinder upgrade installed. It is a massive improvement to my eyes. Previously I kept missing shots because of the quite frequent white-outs but now I'm unable to provoke it. Amazing.

I also had some general tuning carried out. The shutter button is now much softer, more like my M4, and the whole camera feels overall very smooth. Leica also installed better light seals around the shutter curtain. Later in the production span of the M6 and the TTL an improved version of the seals was manufactured, which was less prone to uneven, "wavy" wear, caused by the shutter's movement. At least this is how CS explained it to me.

The kind folks at Customer Service threw in a black dot for free, which was nice since I had just painted over the red one. To take the camera apart they needed to remove the leatherette. The one they put on is less shiny and much more grippy than the original Millennium leatherette; which is a second bonus. I had considered changing the cover to something else (I wrote about it in this LUF thread and received very helpful suggestions). This one is perfect for me so now I won't have to change cover. The difference is quite clear between the photo below and the one in the other thread.

One more to add to this fantastic thread. Beautiful cameras, everyone.
Here's my humble addition - my M8 with the camel covering from Aki-Asahi and the 15mm Ultra-Wide Heliar.

You can see it - regular M6 has "Leica M6" written in front. This one has only "M6" written.
I have so called big M6 as well.
The story goes that in the late 80s Leica wanted to find out where from are M6s appearing in the shops that were not regular distributors. That is why they made aprox 3000 big M6 - to follow the around the world..

This is interesting info. So there are only 3000 BN M6s total between black and chrome?
