Let's see your Leica M

My Leica M1... Note the cool serial number, the lack of a timer or preview lever. I sent it off for a CLA and added the Leica m6 Rubber Eyepiece on the back for my spectacles. I also added a Leica M3 Glass Pressure plate back door. The Griptack works great in all weather and the Silk Cord strap is extremely comfortable. I have little history on the camera, except that at some point in time, a Leica M4 viewfinder was installed. I also added a quick load kit. Functionally it's my dream camera, next to an MA perhaps. I only have the one lens, so it never comes off.

I understand that M1 has no rangefinder. Do you use scale-focusing with that beautiful 35/2 IV?

although all my leicas are precious, i find that i use the m3s and m2 most.
something about the basic design that i find irresistible despite the lack of
framelines or dim viewfinder.

i pair certain lenses to certain bodies, as they are accurately aligned, or simply they look better.

Ray,

How do you choose a camera for a shooting session? Depends on the mood may be?
If I were you, I wouldn't know. Really.

I can understand why it's your dream camera.
From the serial number to the being an M-1 with
an M-4 rangefinder.

Congrats on having a very Cool Custom M-1/M-4

David

This true amazing feeling porn in touch ostrich Leica half-case made an artisan from Chile. Highly recommend to visit his account on Evil bay with nick Zobet. He is absolute open mind person with great communication and options for making your own style design. Just recieved the item day ago and really happy!

The usual travel companions

Saddleback Leather? I have the "classic briefcase" that was given as a gift to me from my parents when I graduated school. They didn't have the slim briefcase available at that time, which looks better for daily carry.

Yes it is. I have both the slim and the regular in chestnut. The regular was my normal weekend getaway bag and the slim briefcase my daily carry. Although lately I've been using Frost River's carry-on for a weekend bag and a Filson briefcase for daily carry. Guess it depends on my mood.
