Just needed an unmetered Leica M for my symetrical wide angles (SA and Hologon) that fool the M meter of M6 and later Ms!

Really like the M4 clean lines, such a beautiful industrial design...

It's a Rolex Datejust on an aftermarket leather strap. Based on the "pie pan" dial and what looks like a steel engine turned bezel I'd guess it's a model 1603 from the 1960s or 70s. Very nice watch.

Over the years, I've used many Leicas, from the first used M2 I bought when in university for $250. In my favourite time I had both a black paint M4 and a black paint M2. Yes, I had a Noctilux & a 75mm Summilux 1.4 ...when they cost about $1k used. For a period of time I only worked with 5x7 & 6x9. Ironically, the iPhone brought me back to Leica. Making prints in the darkroom completes the circle for me. Anything less feels like looking at menu in a restaurant window & then walking away. I sold my MP here, bought this M4 from Brooktaw, & a big thanks to Don at DAG for the Leicavit conversion & the CLA. Smooth as silk. Good for another 50years. Period correct neckstrap as suggested by Erik VS.

Recently traded in my Leica M4 for a Leica M6 since I wanted 28mm frame lines and a built in light meter. As much as I miss my old camera, the M6 is still one hell of a camera.

The M6 ttl LHSA has been a great camera for me. It was a consignment camera at Photo Village. I bought it originally with the Voigtlander Heliar collapsible which i have since gotten rid of (see avatar). I am more a 35mm person, but I may be in the market for that voigtlander lens again, it was really nice. Enjoy the photos.

The SA was very expensive back then, today bargains can be found. Mine was not cause i wanted a good copy with minimal fuss. Construction on my copy is so solid, i feel on par or better than Leitz.

Its not only digital corners, its also the lightmeter that is blocked on m6 that keeps it reaching ultimate stardom like noctiluxes imho.

SA 21 signature is so beautiful me thinks.

I agree. I love the SA 21. This is my second one after I foolishly sold my first. Looks amazing on the M4 if I do say so myself. It actually DOES play well on digital, at least with the M10, one just has to adjust the corners a little bit but it's dead simple now with a basic gradient mask in lightroom. Granted I tend to work in black and white so it's even easier for me!

If I ever go about getting a Monochrom again I will 100% be using it on there. I just wish I could get my 50 Summicron DR to work on the M10. I know some were able to but mine doesn't.

Guess I could always get a rigid version too!

 
An elegant and beautiful photo machine...the M4 with SA...nothing extra....just what it takes
