Let's see your Leica M

Always been a big Garry Winogrand fan and was watching a YouTube video about him and noticed the camera set-up he was using:

And thought, "Hey I've got that 28mm lens."

So I put together what I call my Stealthy GW.

Now take 400,000 exposures so your Leica can look like his.

I have been cleaning out the photo cabinet recently. I have kept my three lug black M5 and it has become my favorite film M. Although I cannot justify another film M, a chrome M5 would go great with my black version.

Love the 3 lug Helen, congratulations.

Hey, scautez, really colorful camera. What do you think of your Canon 35mm f1.8? Don't see many of them out in the wild. I've got the same and it keeps surprising me how good it is.

Best,
-Tim

Hi Tim,
I really like the little Canon. It's my favourite lens to use. It is fantastic for B&W and gives that slightly vintage look. It may not be the best for colour by today's standards, but I've grown to like the more muted colours it produces. They are somewhat pastel in rendition. Ergonomically, whether it is because of the size, the light weight, or the infinity tab, it is great fun to use. I mostly use it for B&W on the M8 or the M2. Most of the recent photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/125897175@N08/ are with this lens. I think for the price they are good value if get one in good condition.

M7 black chrome Dutch Flag edition (10 pieces made for dealers as a demo camera)

Although it's not the most attractive version, i wanted it because of the small numbers made and i'm Dutch ;)

M7 black paint with MP leatherette, M6 TTL Millennium style speed setting button + quick winding lever + mask selector + film release lever.
Bought it as a standard black chrome M7 and had it customized by Leica Wetzlar.

M7 donor body
When is asked Leica to customize my M7 black chrome to this conversion, M7 black paint with MP leatherette, M6 TTL Millennium style speed setting button + quick winding lever + mask selector + film release lever. The actually took brand new M7 parts + body, took the old flash shoe with serial number an build my desired camera. Thats how i got a M7 donor body. ;)

I prefer the quick winding lever old style much more than the standard M4/M7 and when i first saw the M6 TTL Millennium style speed setting button i instantly felt in love. The standard one's on the M7 are so plastic.

M-A, which i bought from Leica Wetzlar as a brand new demo for tradeshows & events.
I love M-A for it's clean looks and 100% mechanics, with this M-A, i really felt in love. I switch between M-A and black paint M7 depending on my "taste" at that time.

Agreed! To me, the M-A is the "purest" camera ever built, a true master piece. I actually just returned from the Leica store where I held an M-A + 50/1.4 in my hands. One day I'll go and get me one, probably when my wife is on travel. :D

I'm definitely biased but I have to agree. I love the M-A. Aesthetically it's exactly what I want from Leica, functionally it's exactly what I want from Leica, emotionally it's exactly what I want from Leica.

Guess I'm a fan :)
