Let's see your Leica M

Here's my new M6 Classic :). All I need now is a lens, so if anyone wants to sell me a cheap 50/2 Summicron... ;).

Dave.

Someday I'll learn how to take product photos. Until then, this will have to suffice.

Just curious, am I the only MP owner that doesn't totally hate the standard covering?

I have no problem so far with the standard covering that many refer to as "sandpaper like."

If I ever recover it (hopefully not for many many years if ever), I would probably put authentic leather of some sort on it though.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY Black Paint MP. Im super bummed about scratching the top plate after a few days of ownership, but its a sweet camera. I like it more than my M7 (which is at Leica for repair) and it just feel right. I do not mind the covering at all. I actually like it.

I also like the covering on my black MP, it provides an excellent, non-slip grip. Aesthetically, it has an understated, modern look. Nothing wrong with it at all.

I prefer the real, classic vulcanite - on the body and the lens. Now, if my wife would wear it, I'd really have something. :)

:O What is that romanian bancnote doin' there?
By the way, you should use it soon coz they are changing and they won't be valid in a short while:)

My M4-p with 50 Summilux and MR-4 meter.

By the way, the meter will probably be for sale in the next couple of weeks in the RFF classifieds.

I've been wondering how taping a Leica will deter someone from stealing it. If they know Leicas they will know it even if it is taped.

In my case, the taping is mostly because I like the camera to look all black and more stealthy. My M4-p is quite beat up and crappy looking, so I figure that it doesn't look very appealing.

Anyway, crime, including theft, has been outlawed in Denmark ;)

It's outlawed here too but that doesn't stop the criminals. They just keep stealing. :(

It's just one of a few that I brought back from Romania last year from a film shoot I was on. I don't intend to spend it. I keep a few bills from most of the places I travel to simply because I think they are nice looking. I just made this little still life with my MP, Passport and the Romanian bill, because PJ travel-style photography is what interests me most, and it's what I think of when I look at my Leica.
