At last!! The ZM25 is here!

Well, here is the ZM25 on the M7 with the Leica finder. I have a call in to Sherry to just triple check that I won't mess up my M5 mounting it there. Nothing run yet, but shooting has been fun so far!

Eugene- I was referring to another thread about legendary M durability- I too shoot in the rain on occasion.

freshly unloaded after a roll of Pan-F, Agfa Ultra will likely be next. Gotta love that Zeiss T* color!!

Let's see your Leica M

Here's one of mine:

An M3, with a rigid 50mm/f2 Summicron with bugeyes, a UV filter, a 39mm to 46mm filter ring, a 46mm lens hood, a light meter and a table-top tripod...

Here's my much talked about M5, having a bit of a fling with the 35/2 asph rather than it's usual 50/2 Hexanon (thanks again Dave).

The grip is in the works. I've got a machinist making some blanks that I'll dicker with here. He suggested a clamping system to grip the baseplate, and is doing one that way. My thought was less high-tech (well, maybe more?) and to use an adhesive on an extra baseplate. We'll see how his method works- he was pretty confident.

I really like the body, and rather fond of the bigger VF framelines in it. And the engravings are fun 🙂

I don't really have an opinion re advance levers, since I never tried old-style one. Either way it works, surely not worse than knob-wind on my Contax 🙂
 
newly arrived M3 double stroke with buddah ears and ball bearing backplate. It is smooth, it is a M3 I love it already!

Sepiareverb,I am curious why do you have the hood for the ZM 21 on your ZM 25 lens? Would n`t the bigger and deeper hood made for the 25 offer more flare reducing value? I love and use the Zm21 and the Zm25 ,with there dedicated hoods but boy the veiwfinders are pricy,but great. I have also replaced the red dot with a black one on my M-7, I think it makes the M-7 so much more classier looking.
 
My hood came to me at an incredible price- it is listed as being for the 21/25 combo, which I anticipated getting at the time. I fell into a 28/25 combo, and will likely stick with the Contax G 21 that I love so. I currently have a 'want to trade' ad running for the 28/25 hood.

Them black dots are very classy ain't they?

Akira - Very, very well done! The color scheme works so well. Being an alum, I'd have to say deep down somewhere you're a Huskers fan.

Don't let that small detail stand between you and the finest 35mm camera ever made!

It really is not a hardship to turn the smaller dial. My index fingertip easily turns the wheel with my eye still on the viewfinder.
 
Thanks Vdr & E5- I am tempted by the 'all manual batteryless ability'.
Is the wheel smoother or easier to turn than the M6 classic? I have one of those (1992) that I just find too stiff. This camera does need a CLA- could this be lubed up to smooth it out? The MP does have better knurling on the shutter speed dial than the M6, that might help also. Next time I'm in Montreal I'm going to try an MP out.

Is that a leather outfit on the MP?
