Having a number of Leicas I could not find time to use this one. It was staying in a corner of the cupboard and since decades. Still in mint condition after half a century..

No more proud Contax owners here ? :D

Here is one of mine : a nice and working M series Contax III with a wartime Sonnar 1.5 T (I picked this one more to collect than to use ; very unusual for me, I but have a soft spot for those Zeiss products).

Nice- i also picked up an M series Contax III with a SN255xxxx Sonnar "T" 5cm F1.5 on it. The aperture on mine is marked to F11- but has an unmarked F16.

The Contax now has a post-war Zeiss Opton on it, and the 5cm F1.5 Sonnar T is now Leica mount, on the M9. It is "convertible" and can go back into the Contax mount, shims saved in the Contax mount.

A recent acquisition, a Jena Contax and what is likely the original lens. A beauty, and works well, too.

Times are changing it seems - just, say, five years ago, about a dozen people would have raved about that 100% genuine Jena Contax during the hours following your post.

Nice find.

Thanks, Highway 61. The camera is in very good shape, and shutter speeds are pretty accurate between 1/500 and 1/10, as judged by Ektar 100 negatives. I had been looking for one of these for a long time, finally snagged one on eBay.

I'm back home after a couple weeks away.

I need to congratulate for the beautiful Jena-Contax!

Two weeks ago, I've received this Contax IIa outfit: it's really wonderful and I can't wait to see the results of the Zeiss Opton Tessar 50mm. 3,5!

E.L.
