What a valued treasure to have your father's camera kit & to have it be a Contax makes it all the more so. That Biogon looks awesome, is the hood original to it?
Onwards from 1938 the Contax logo font was modified - but yours might be from 1939 or later as well, the letter before the serial number inside will tell it as per this :
Z 1935/6, A 1936, B 1936, C 1936/7, D 1937, E 1937, F 1937/8, G 1938, J 1938/9, K 1939, L 1939, M 1940/42, N 1941/3
I'm a very proud Contax IIIa shooter, but I don't have any pictures of it. Soon, I hope!No more proud Contax owners here ? 😀
Here is one of mine : a nice and working M series Contax III with a wartime Sonnar 1.5 T (I picked this one more to collect than to use 😱; very unusual for me, I but have a soft spot for those Zeiss products).

Taken with my Lumix DMC-TS10 Digital Camera (Black)
Absolutely phenomenal lens you have attached to it. Happens to be my second favorite after f/1.5 Sonnar 😛
here is my trio of IIa Contax rangefinders
