Leica LTM Let's talk Leica Standard

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Is a Nickel Elmar period correct for 1938? It looks so good on your Mod. E

It's a Nickel 35mm f/3.5 Elmar from 1936 if I remember correctly. It looks even nicer on my black Leica II cameras and black-nosed VIDOM viewfinder. 😉

Is there such a thing as a nickel-finish accessory viewfinder from Leica?

For jsrocket (and everyone else):

One from the same camera but taken when I had just received it. In this case sporting a 1939 Summitar.

Without a slow-speed escapement of the Leica III/IIIa/IIIb the slowest speed is dictated by the spring tension of the rollers that pull the curtains. On pre-IIIc cameras this matches with 1/20th.
From the IIIc onward they changed the speed the curtains travel at to match with 1/30th. I guess to achieve a faster flash sync speed.

It's kinda funny how on the IIf they made a simplified slow speed escapement for just achieving 1/25th.

Leica Speed Dials

Leica Speed Dials

After Leitz introduced the Leica III they standardised the speed dials to the same pattern for all cameras. Because 1/20 was the slowest nondelayed speed that is the speed shown on the dial of all camera s at that time.

Weisu has always been expensive, the 28/35 Voigtlander Mini Finder is much harder to find and at a similar price.

I was given one by a member here, used it, then passed it on, wish I would have kept it 🙁

Some of the Rangefinders are also rather expensive like the FODIS and FOKOS.
I find the WINKO to be cool and affordable at about 100$

And while I'm here, let me post this image for the 3rd time!

Leica I Model C

Just an aside; in the 1938 Leitz NY catalogue the black standard Leica costs USD75 and the chrome one is $81 or 8% more. Both prices include4d a spool and the f/3.5 Elmar.
