The only surprising thing to me was that I received the letter, as well. I bought mine a week after the 12/31 deadline passed and so am not eligible for the discount. When you register it you note, of course, the date of purchase. When I got the letter a couple days ago (directly from Solms, not NJ), my heart skipped a beat, thinking maybe they had extended the deadline (like they recently did with the two free lens-coding vouchers). I saw the price list and immediately started looking at that 50 Lux ASPH...
Alas, at the end they make clear that the 12/31 deadline is still in effect. I guess they're sending the letter out to all new M8 purchasers.
