Medium Format Baby!!
I'll be in Tokyo for a short time on Wednesday and I'm interested in buy an RD1-s or x.
Does anybody know of any good deals still available on the RD1-s in Tokyo or who has the RD1-x in stock.
If I miss it this time round I'll be back in about 6 weeks time.

Hello,
Your best bet is to go to Fujiya Camera near Nakano Station.

That's where I got my R-D1x a few weeks ago.
Good luck!

Fujiya Camera in Nakano has the R-D1x in stock (255,800 yen) as does MAP Camera (269,800 yen).
I haven't seen any new R-D1s for a while so expect they're all sold. MAP usually has a range of used R-D1 and R-D1s's though.

Thanks for the info and prices. I'll be coming in from Nagoya (Ugata, Mie) after getting off a ship. Stopping in Nihonbashie over night to meet up with a friend.
I know Map camera in Shinjuku, a bit snobbish down stairs...

This forum has been eager to hear from somebody who actually has the R-D1x. Perhaps you could post a new thread about it.

OK, I'll take the bait... (and hijack the thread, sorry...)
I'm really having fun with my new R-D1x. I'd love to tell you about it in detail, but I had no previous experience with either the R-D1 or the R-D1s. So I don't have a good point of reference.
I can say that I am using SDHC cards with it - which is great. The display is fixed and doesn't swivel - too bad, I actually think that was a good idea.
If anyone has questions, please feel free to ask.
Here are a few photos taken with the R-D1x.
