No life isn't fair. It's Sunday morning, about 10 a.m. here in Happy Valley in South Australia. Normally at this time of day on the weekend, I'd be out walking camera in hand, normally with my hiking mate, in my beloved Adelaide Hills that overlook our lovely city. And today was going to be special as I was to use my brand new Leica M6 for the first time. But with the temperature soaring to 42 celsius yesterday and the same predicted for today, I'm grounded inside for the day with the computer on and feeling somewhat bored and moribound, I was just wondering what is the weather forecast in various parts of RFF land for Sunday and where is home? Happy Valley is a quiet suburb of Adelaide, capital city of our state, South Australia with a population of just over a million. People from the eastern seaboard of OZ, Melbourne and Sydney in particular normally dispargingly refer to Adelaide as that place "we fly over on our way to the west". And we reply that's fine and just keep going.

Whew! 42c is a bit to hot to be out shooting in! We are forecast for about 6c tomorrow here in Durham, North Carolina, US. A bit chilly, but at least we will have some sunshine. I am hoping to get out with the ZI and the new G7 digital.

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending a few days in Adelaide in 2002. We got about a day and a half on the front and back of a tour of Kangaroo Island. We would love to come back, we had a great time in Adelaide, and would like to see some more of the city.

If I had a new M6, I am not sure if even 42c would keep me inside. At the very least, wait until sundown and load up some 3200!

some 8°C here, about 4 to 6 more than it should be this time of the year.
 
Hey Alan, I've been shooting all weekend down in the city (yes, in Adelaide)... it's not too bad once you get used to it!

But then, I'm a bike messenger and I have to ride in these conditions all the time. Not so bad, really.
 
Howdy Alan, from your sister city, Austin the capitol city of Texas. The forcast for Sunday here is a low of 42 F and a high temp of 65 F with sunny skies. Yep, it is winter time here mate! I will be out shooting with at least three cameras.

Alan, here at 47.2 North by 120.5 West the forecast for Sunday is 10 deg C and raining. I guess I might prefer that to 42°C! Maybe.

Adelaide sounds to be on the direct route south from Singapore to Buenos Aires. 🙂
 
Jerusalem - it's just before 8:00a.m. and for the last few minutes it has been HAILING. The prediction is for light rain/rain all day which is a total bummer because, after I go to work for a few hours this morning, I was going to join a friend and shoot a couple of rolls of film in and around the old city.... maybe the sun will come out.
 
Here in Indianapolis the state capitol of the state of Indiana it will get up to 20 degrees F. That is much better than the -5F we had a couple of days ago. We are headed into a warming trend this week. February was our toughest winter month to date. I am looking forward to spring and planting garden.

It's warming up a little here, -2C this morning as I went out for the sunday paper. Might get a little above 0 later today. And possibly as high as 3 or 5 on Monday. Snowing again, though.
The last few years, the maple sugar harvest hasn't been so good--the winters weren't cold enough--I think we might have a rather better harvest this year.

Here in the DC area it's about 25 degrees fahrenheit, windy but really sunny, with about 3 inches of snow swirling around. Playing with my new cable release, waiting for the Daytona 500 race in a couple hours.
 
When I first saw the title of your post I hesitated opening it because hearing of the misfortune of others affects me. (empathic) But you're complaining about the weather. Whenever I feel a bit down, I try to remember that my problems are nothing compared to those of others.

🙂 Ah, Frank I wasn't really complaining about the weather but it was more my disappointment at not being able to go out for my Sunday morning hike with the new M6 in hand. But then I don't ever complain much about anything. Life here Downunder is as they say " great one day, perfect the next". Actually the hiking season here in South Australia was foreshortened this year as we've had the worst drought in recorded history and the countryside is bone dry and thus the risk of bushfires is huge. But even during our winters, daytime max. temps. rarely get below 12 to14 celsius. And it sounds like most of the correspondents to this are up to their eyeballs in snow. We get about 2 drops of snow on Mt. Lofty which overlooks Adelaide about once every 5 years. Anyway in a couple of weeks I'm off to a bienniel arts festival which is held in Bundaleer Forest several hours from Adelaide. Camping out in the Aussie bush then going to concerts scatterred throughout the forrest. There will be plenty of opportunities to exercise the M6 then. Cheers Alan
