No, that is another lens, but looks like it. It's the number that is important, 1703XXX, 1959. Balsam separation was often a problem in the later type. I myself have one with such a problem, 18XXXXX.
Yes, I'm not sure how to describe it, but it renders pleasantly - and I like the bokeh just fine. It does vignette in the upper two corners under certain circumstances through around f/4, but I've been able to clone it out (see post #117).... The lens certainly has appealing character too - at least to me!
