---------
I tried to come up with an opening title that best illustrates how I felt when I first gazed upon the pages of this wonderful site, I actually got tingles up and down my spine when I first arrived.
My actual name is Mario and at the age of 52 I've been enjoying for years the many pleasures that photography has to offer. There has been however periods where I've lost touch with this incredible art form/outlet, I'm very pleased to say that I'm coming out of one of those periods, I'm back.
One of my sons who during his second year at university couldn't suppress his feelings for this art form any longer, he proceeded to bust out all over the place for it and took all of my equipment along with him, I was very glad to accommodate. Having left me with empty Domke bags, well, he got those as well, I was faced with what then do I buy? I borrowed a friends Canon 10D and shot a number of rolls, uh, cards, and as wonderful an experience that this incredible technology brings I felt something was missing. I could go into detail describing what I liked about it and more particularly what I didn't like but that subject has been run around the block or up the flag pole or whatever one too many times.
In seeking guidance from a fellow photographer it was recommended that I look at the G2, I also considered going two and a quarter but at the end of the day I decided to settle on 35mm and the G2. Here comes the good part, I was able to secure a 9 (out of 10) point body with the 28, 45, 90 (all mint with original boxes and documentation) and a just recently purchased 21, all for numbers that are shameful, many thanks to digital for that one.
My first roll of film was XP2 super, I shot the roll quickly using the 45, had it processed at a 1 hour lab and was stunned at the results, if I may, I was like a pig in poop! Those tingles found their way onto my back again.
I look forward to at some point posting photos here and of course sharing ideas with fellow rangers and Contax G lovers.
