Hey RFF,
I started learning film photography here in Canada when COVID started. It led to me creating my first zine!
I also wrote an article about how I made the zine. It talks about things like zonal focus, approaching strangers for photos, choosing film labs, and other photo books which inspired me: https://www.behance.net/gallery/105020669/Opening-Soon
I hope with this article I can give something back to this community, which I stumbled upon a few times while learning how to use my rangefinder.

Nice work! You got a lot of good content and useful info on there. I will give it a more thorough read when I can. Seems like in depth stuff rather than camera reviews or superficial content, nice job.

Hi, Noam. Welcome to RFF!
I'm amazed that you are so new to film, yet you have already produced a zine from your photos. I have used the same Canonet, myself, and I think it's a great camera. I'm impressed that you could see the potential of this humble-yet-competent instrument without feeling that you had to go upmarket in order to capture meaningful images.
I went to your website to see the zine and I liked the theme and the pages that I was able to see enough that I ordered one for myself!
Excellent work! Glad to have you join us here, where you will undoubtedly have much to contribute.

Noam, I read through your website. It is very well organized and very well thought out. It reflects a lot of knowledge obtained through a self-disciplined drive to learn. I wouldn't expect something on this level from a photographer of only two years, not to mention one only months into film photography.
Again, very well done!

Noam, welcome to RFF.
Firstly, I’m impressed by your work. Secondly, I’m inspired by your website. Lastly, I need to take that inspiration and apply it to my blog. Your site makes me feel like I’ve grown complacent and down right lazy on my site. I really need to up my game.
Thanks for sharing. I hope to see more from you in the future.
All the best,
Mike

Canonets are great cameras and with a little patience and practice can take unexpectedly good photos. The below was a quick off the cuff experiment just before the wife and I left for some errand or other. So I didn't get to experiment more at the time and just never got back to it.

Yes, I think we all focus on gear too much so I like that you focused on the images and composing. I think we could all focus more on images and sharing them. So I support this and the fact that you used a simple canonet to create all your stuff.

Great resource and many lovely photos throughout! This type of thing is what draws me to RFF. There's still plenty of gear chat, but I haven't found many other groups so dedicated to printing and physically sharing work. This is another wonderful example!

Very impressive!
It is good photography as solid foundation and well documented aspects.
Always nice to see someone bright and smart from our hoods.

Very nice work! I made a zine a while back and my biggest hurdle was selling it, Perhaps you could write more about how to "advertise" that would be very interesting and helpful to me.

Thanks Noam for this interestimg thread, I only found time now to go through it!
I love to have photos on paper and being a lover myself of self produced zines I find it very interesting and informative.
For me the difficult step is the distribution of them, i'm conscious the not being present on socials is not helping.
Congratulations for your work and please keep us informed of any future development!
Take opportunity to welcome you on board of RFF and to wish you a good healthy 2021

Fabulous!
I wish to echo what the posters before me have said and add that I gained inspiration not only from what you made but I think even more from understanding how you made it. Thank you for sharing that.

Hey RFF,
I appreciated all your nice feedback on my post.
I’m bringing back this thread to share my latest project called Picture a Sailboat. It is a photographic exploration of aphantasia. And I made use of 4 different cameras, from medium format to iPhone. I thought that would feel inconsistent, but I think it adds to the fragmented feel I was going for.
Info about the project is here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/116216719/Picture-A-Sailboat-Zine
