Is it one of those toy cameras of the Lomography?
It has full manual capabilities (except the range calculator mechanism, as you mentioned).

Did you originally post in this the Scale Focus forum, or was it moved here from a different forum? If the former, well, you posted in the right forum. Essentially if you focus it yourself and it lacks a built in rangefinder, it is a scale or zone focus camera. At least as far as I understand the terms.

I had no idea about this type of camera (scale or zone focus), and one of the moderators move the post from the FSU RF cameras. It is a funny camera though!
I have just loaded an Retro 400 and I'll try it with the sunny16 (sunny22 as it does not have a 400asa option or speed)

Make sure you google about scale and zone focusing (They are the same, but both terms are used). That will give you some tips to make sure that your pictures are in focus.
