It's beautiful here, once my housing settles down it will be even better.
It's such a contrast to New York, I can't say I don't miss it.
I've spent more time taking pictures since I got here then I can remember, it's a good feeling.
I'm also in the process of setting up a darkroom here with my friend, I can finally get around to developing my own film.

arrived today
arrived today
after five days of travel only, the 90/2 summicron-m...
It IS a large and heavy lens, but fits well on the M2. I think i'll like it.
The only negative point, it protrudes into the 90mm framelines considerably
Also, i'd like to thank the forum member leica geek who sold it to me at a great price and was super quick in the transaction.

I got a beautiful Konica IIIM after getting a Konica III, II, and I. The IIIM reminds me of a IIIG with its huge viewfinder, but it has a fixed lens [that is awesome].
I don't think that I will buy soon any camera bodies. Lenses are a different story though. A Canon 35mm/1.5 or 50mm/1.5 may be the front contenders.

I always thought the old Konica fixed-lens rangefinders were very well styled. Some of them had fast f/2.0 lenses too.raid said:I got a beautiful Konica IIIM after getting a Konica III, II, and I. The IIIM reminds me of a IIIG with its huge viewfinder, but it has a fixed lens [that is awesome].

Would you consider them big and heavy?

How to say what you can´t believe
How to say what you can´t believe
An M8 came in yesterday. I can´t begin to think how I´m going to handle the fact.
The worst thing is; both my RF lenses are LTM (for my canon P) and it suddenly dawned on me that I don´t own one single adapter. I can´t shoot!:bang:
I haven´t even opened the box yet. I remind myself of one dog I had years ago when presented with one especially gorgeous piece of a dinner his folks (us) had eaten as well. He just sat back, cocked his head and looked at me. This true? You actually mean this??
leif e
Btw.; He did eat. Fast, when he got around to it.

Clarence,
A Leica M3 with a Summicron weighs as much as one of the Konica III cameras [my guess]. I just came back from meeting with RFF member Robin. He showed me his recently acquired M3. I showed him a Konica IIIM and I asked him to see which had a brigher VF. He told me that the IIIM had a much brighter VF than that of his very nice looking M3.
My III has a 48mm/2.0 and the IIIM has a 50mm/1.8. I bet that these two lenses can match a Summicron in sharpness and resolution.
The Konica II is especially stylish; similar to Art Deco.
Cheers,
Keith
The best camera is one that still works!

Just received last Friday a CV 28mm 3.5 lens from Stephen at CQ. Beautiful little example. I've seen many, many photos taken with this little gem and am trying it out now. The CV 35 and 75's are really wonderful.

A bottle of Fomadon R09, which I ordered 3 weeks ago, finally arrived today. Estonian postal service made me wait so long.

Very nice day today mailwise, not only did I receive a broken Canon EF slr which I'm hoping to merge with other broken body to produce one working, but also my two kievs and jupiter 12s arrived from Oleg!
Both kievs are working well now and the focusing of my stuck J-12s is silk smooth
This is especially nice since I've been confined indoors by pneumonia for over a week already and I'm bored to death. Unfortunately this means also that I won't be able to take them for a walk for a few days yet, too bad

It spent a week in customs, but it finally arrived today, my Kodak 35 PH-324 (Gasp! it's not a rangefinder!!!!)
I'll put some RFs in the picture to distract the moderators
This is my WW2 Kodak family (the PH-324 is the one in Green) :

Anthopomorphized Camera
My 90/2 Summicron lens arrived today! Now I have another lens to go with the M3 and CV 35/1.2 that came last week.
It's not pristine, but it's still worth the $100 I paid for it. ( I hear it's good for taking pictures, too.

Sometimes you can win on "That Auction Place"
Sometimes you can win on "That Auction Place"
The picture was blurry, the VERY short description said it had a sticky shutter but otherwise good, it was local and had a BIN price of AUD$35. I thought what the heck it was cheap enough to be a parts camera to cannabalise for my other XD-7 (if and when it starts to break down).
Turns out the so called "sticky" shutter description is just the mirror return making sure the mirror doesn't cut off the image before the shutter closes! ie there is nothing wrong with it and it is operating normally, PLUS its in FAR better cosmetic conditon than my other one! Looks like XD-7 #1 has been relogated to parts camera!
What a good day!
