I was given this by one of the campers that was here earlier this season. He saw me with my Zorki and said to me, "Gee, I've got some old cameras I was going to toss. If you want 'em I'll send 'em to you." So I got a box last week with several Kodaks all pretty much junk except for this one:
When I saw this, I decided that he needed to know what he sent me so I emailed him and let him know this one was more valuable than he probably thought and if he wanted it back, I would (sadly) return it. His response was that if I was gong to use it, I was welcome to it!
Seems to work well and even the meter is within a stop of my other metered cameras.
I am thinking about a preventative CLA for this one.

It's been ages...
It's been ages...
...and ages since anything came in the mail. I had declared myself DONE! No visits by USPS, UPS or FedEx since forever. Therefore, I totally forgot about this thread. On Tuesday last UPS paid me a visit.
But you declared yourself DONE!
Right.
The all day visit to Frisco, TX a couple months back to collect a wagon full of goodies didn't count. I mean since I didn't WIN something on ebay and since nothing came in the mail, then I must be done.
Back to Tuesday last...
UPS delivered a pair of Jobo tanks, 2523 and 2553, and 3 reels. Now I can develop a bunch of 35mm and 120/220 film all at once.
It's nice to be DONE!

My R is taking a break while I get to know this one better:
For now, I'll be using the Jupiter 8 I've been using as my main 50mm.
I got one LTM to M adapter with it. I'm wanting to get one of the Voigtlander type I adapters so I can use the I-50 collapsible on this camera.
Other wise, I don't really need anything but more film. But I do want a CV 50/f1.5.

Yesterday I received 25 sheets of Era 100 in 4x5 and 25 sheets on Shanghai 100 in 4x5 from Taiwan.
I hope to get a 4x5 camera soon as well. Just gotta buy it first.

I've wanted to try one of these cameras since it was introduced in 1999. Now, due to the demise of the 35mm Point and Shoot camera, I am now able to afford one. I was able to get this one in the box, with the manual and in good working condition for 10.49. That is about 2% of the original price in 2008 dollars. What a bargin!
It came with good batteries and I've popped in a roll of Kodak 400 that was in the bottom of a camera bag. Simple and easy and the auto framing in the portrait mode is nice. Hope that my results live up to the reviews that I have read.

I just received an unopened copy from eBay of the (elaborately named) book Leica - An Illustrated History - Volume 1 - Cameras by the celebrated James Lager. Of course, it's now opened.
The 300+ pages are chock-full of Leica "boxes to hold the film" with select lenses and accessories. Besides the Army-issue conversation pieces, there are real oddities and rarities: gold M3, doppel (stereo), 750 (takes an entire 100' canister of film), Postcamera, and half-frame variants). I wouldn't mind a civilian KE-7A (60 copies made) with its dainty ELCAN 50/2 (aperture tab like a v2 'cron 35). There is full coverage for the usual topics: M3 ball-bearing back doors, wax seals, LTM flash sync, IIIc "steppers", post-war chrome pitting, etc, etc. Am now committed to getting the other two volumes (Lenses, Accessories).

I won an auction for a Canon LTM 50mm f/1.4 on Yahoo! Auctions Japan. It was only 5000 yen, which I thought was a screaming deal, until I noticed too late that the seller said there was haze and...fungus in the lens. The lens arrived yesterday, and I could only see what looked like a heavy layer of on internal lens surfaces. I took it to the local camera repair shop for a cleaning, and now it's good as new.
Gorgeous lens, too. I should get some shooting time with it tomorrow.

My D100 just arrived, and I'm itching to try it out.
No photo because I seem to have forgotten to get myself a CF card reader.

I've been waiting since October for the right L35AF to come along. When I would find one, it would be either broken or too expensive. I didn't have any excuses for this one. It came up on Ebay, but was mislabled. I placed the opening bid with one minute to go and won the camera for 99 cents. The camera arrived after only four days and is in great shape. It came with the original lems cap and strap. There was some makeup in the crevices and on the back where the previous users nose pushed against the camera. This all cleaned up completely and the camera is ready to shoot.
