Hi,
I currently own a Minolta CLE, I have been using it for 3 years everyday and the hotshoe has just stopped firing the flash, I am in desperate need to find a new CLE body or find someone who can fix my current body. I love my camera, it is an extension of myself. Please help me!
Cheers,
graham

Did you try KEH? They'd be my first try.

Graham: where are you geographically? That makes a huge difference. Like I would not recommend a place in the USA if you were in Japan.
Have you checked with your local pros to see if there is a local camera repair guy? They are out there but seldom advertise since the good ones stay busy enough. Besides most simply do not want to deal with the average yahoo that walks in off the street.

Decline: unfortunately I am across the country from you. But there has to be a ton of camera repair shops in San Francisco that could fix something as simple as that. (I suspect a broken or disconnected wire to the hot shoe)

KEH now has one in excellent condition with an inoperative meter and one in bargain condition with an operable meter...

Actually with CLE's its generally not as simple as a loose wire to the shoe. There is a metal contact within the shutter mechanism that is used to synch with the shutter and this often fatigues and literally breaks off. Deep in the shutter mechanism is a place not many technicians will tread.

Since you are in SF, try Ken Ruth at Bald Mountain http://www.baldmtn.com (Davenport). The other expert is Don @ DAG, of course. Lots of spare parts, too.

The thought I was trying to create was not to believe someone was an expert just because they were somewhere far away accessible by only a delivery service.
