Loose LH-4 Lens Hood?

I have the 35mm f/2.5 PII, and the matching LH-4 lens hood. I find the lens hood fits really loosely on the lens. It doesn't fall off, but it doesn't click in place or sit tight when screwed in. Is this by design, or do I have a wonky lens hood? Cheers.

My LH-4 fits snugly on the 35/2.5 PII, but I have to twist it with a bit of force to mount it.

Thanks for the info; mine feels like it's barely being held in place. To contrast what you're saying, mine twists on with no effort whatsoever.

I'm not sure how (or if it's worth the effort) to get it fixed/replaced since I bought the thing online.

I'm an idiot; all this time I was simply too afraid to twist the hood on any tighter, as it felt that it would break if I used anymore force. My brother, who has no qualms about breaking my cameras, was mucking around and twisted the hood on all the way. It does sit very tight now.
