I have several 21f4 Color Skopars. This is the Nikon Rf mount version at the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a very good lens - and you take the price into consideration, one of the best deals around. Only time I have had problem with flare with any of mine is when i have been using filters with chrome rings on them. Black rimmed filters does not cause any problem.
Even at f4 it can hold its own.

This is with the M-mount version of the Color Skopar 21f4 on a Bessa R4M. Matsumoto castle in Japan, one of only two remaining original wood castles. The rest are now replicas in steel and concrete (less fire prone). Observe the left "hook" of the bridge - this prevented horse mounted warriors from storming the castle as they had to slow down to negotiate the turn - and gave the defenders a clear shot with their bows. Neopan 400 in FX 37 developer.

Negative Nancy.
I love the 21 too! There are some shots that seem impossible without it.

I like the lens for some shots where I really need the width - like the one above, some landscape/architectural shots, etc - but for more traditional street shooting, I have a hard time getting close enough for the lens to work well for me. The images in this thread are definitely inspiring though.

anyone shooting color with this lens?
I am usually not a wide angle shooter, but recently bought this lens for my vacation use. i must say i have been shooting with this lens more than any other lens i brought with me. The only thing is, I find that it doesnt render color as well as black and white. I am especially not a fan of that strong vignet when shooting wide open.
heres an example

Great shots all! Just bought one off another forum and get it end of next week! Can't wait to try it out on the Bessa R4A.

I dunno, I really like the use of color in this particular shot. I've only shot sporadically in color with this lens. It's a modern lens so I don't mind the results, not like shooting an older leitz lens with color film (can't stand the muted results).
