i can hear it focus...but i would not label it as noisy...of course, my hearing isn't as good as it used to be either!!
i honestly think we have become a bunch of picky consumers who concern ourselves with just too much triviality...
Thanks, Joe. That's what I suspected. I'm going to sell off my X100S, buy the 27mm for my XP1, and a Metabones Speed Booster adapter for my Nikkor lenses.

Jamie,
I just ordered a speedbooster for the Nikon to Fuji. Still waiting for a delivery date. I bought us mail order. Did u go direct to metabones?

It's not a "lame reason". It's a perfectly valid reason, insofar as it's MY REASON.
I'm very familiar with back of the camera aperture control. That's how Canon DSLRs work. It's not "slightly different" from having the aperture ring on the lens barrel. When the aperture ring is on the lens - which is where may left hand is anyway - it's simple to change the f/stop. When it's on the back of the camera, it's an extra movement.
I prefer the ergonomics of the former. Apologies if that offends you.

no offense taken...i was in a bitchy mood this morning.
i will say that the wheel is at my right hand thumb and could not be easier to change the aperture...easier than a ring on the lens.
i like both and don't have a preference, especially after working with the 27 for a few days...have i mentioned how tiny the lens is and how rf like it all feels with the x-e1?

I'll have to give it a try in store this week.

Gary, for the moment I'm assuming I'll be ordering it directly from Metabones. But by the time I get my other gear sold, maybe it'll be available through Amazon prime, or even my local camera store!

Got mine via the normal us web order process. Took less then about a week to arrive
even though they were saying 2-4 weeks wait time on their site.

So, the ETA of the 24th (B&H) has come and gone... anyone in the US get one?

Thanks for the offer Joe, I appreciate it. However, I think they will be in NYC soon. With shipping and all from Canada to here, it'll probably be the same wait.

Would you mind posting photos of the camera setup with the 27? Im planning on getting a 27 soon for my XE1, but finding images of the combo is hard to come by. Your high spirits of the lens have me excited to purchase. Thanks for anything you can do!

Thank you! Thinner than I was expecting, in a good way of course. How is adjusting to using the wheel to change aperture instead of an actual aperture ring? And also, how do you switch the lens (well, I guess camera) into aperture priority mode?

using the wheel is very easy, simple and i had absolutely no problem adjusting...in fact using the camera one handed just got easier.
keep the shutter dial on A and it's in aperture priority mode.

whoops, I meant shutter priority.

have not figured it out yet...it involves putting the aperture selection on auto/auto-manual...
Fuji, can you please let the US have this lens? These photos of it on the camera are killing me.

Only one issue...the lens cap clip is too small for my fingers...I'm shure I gonna put it on in the wrong way and loose it soon.
For this I take the "Protector" (pricey) filter: as soon as possible save the cap in the bag and walk around only with the filter....
