It looks like NOT being tied to the Euro is turning out to be a good thing.

It's the other way round. Being tied to the Euro is actually quite excellent at the moment. $749 at a 1.35 exchange rate is 550 EUR, $669 at a 1.45 exchange rate is 460 EUR. 🙂

You used to see used R2s selling on eBay for about that sum. So if you have an opportunity to buy in the States, and if you don't mind inconvenient warranty terms, you can get a new camera for the price of a used one two years ago. 🙂

It seems like being stuck in the E.U. is not the best thing. Even though the low dollar is a plus, if you order anything from outside the E.U. the customs will charge you import duty and VAT, which together is about 25% :bang: :bang: 🙁

Oh, I really hope this is because CV is bringing out something like the CL and CLE soon! Provided I had the money I'd have one of each.
