I am thinking about buying this strap and was wondering if it is worth the $64 asking price?
Also how well does the shoulder pad stay put? Does it slide off your shoulder?

Its a very well made and comfortable strap. Worth the money if you don't mind spending that much. The shoulder pad doesn't move unless you want it to move. It won't just slide around on you.

It sure looks like a nice strap (esp with the shoulder pad), but I've never seen or handled one in the flesh... I have seen pics here of other people's cam's with them on, so hopefully you can get some first hand info.

well....personally I just can't justify that much money for any strap.

If its going on a Zorki, I can understand that sentiment. But if you already spent anywhere from $800-3500 on a Leica, why not splurge a little on the strap?

I'm happy with my Domke gripper for about $15, myself... Although I don't like shooting with the strap hanging off the camera in public, seems like it draws more attention than just holding the camera.

I have got Luigi hybrid strap and use with full case with removable front. Strap as well as case are very well made (Luigi assured me the leather is only naturally tanned), and shoulder pad stays in its position all time. If I am to decide again as to strap and case it will be Luigi again.

True craftmanship .. not only beautiful in the best italian tradition, but very functional too. If you see how it is made and the leather used ..... the price is very reasonable!

I have a black leica M half case with deluxe strap. Yes, expensive but original, handmade kit which is a pleasure to won and to use. Has soul. A person made it.

I completely agree with Tom's sentiments here. And what's more, the soul just keeps growing. I already had two Luigi cases for two other cameras and recently picked up yet another Luigi case with strap, used, from ebay. Used, worn, man, it's now my favorite! The neck strap was adjusted down to it's shortest length and being nicely used the leather is very soft and pliable. Makes it real easy to wrap around my wrist when I want to carry it that way. And to think I had been babying my other Luigi cases because they seemed too nice to chance marking them or whatever. Heck, now I say go out and use the heck out of them because they only get better as they get worn and used. Like a fine leather saddle or baseball glove, it gets better not worse. Okay, now I'm starting to sound like an advertisement for Luigi. But his cases and straps are great, as is his customer service.

I agree, his wrist straps are about as close to perfection as you can get in a strap. Simple, elegant, tough. My second Luigi wrist strap should be arriving in the mail any day now for my MP.

I don't know if it's worth the amount of money they are priced at, but one thing is pretty sure to me, it is the best strap I ever had, and they are so elegant to my fashion sense. You might wanna experiment wich width suits you better...

I can heartily agree with previous sentiments to get a Luigi strap-or any of his products for that matter. I have lower cases for my M cameras, shoulder/neck straps and now a wrist strap. All are well made, beautiful, and come from an honest and nice craftsman. How many other places in this machine-age world can one find old world craftsmanship and a fine person who did the work. Now, if he would just make a lower case for my CV R2S...

It appears that most like these straps.
The original Leica strap has a tendency to slip off my shoulder and want to get a better one so I'll have another look at Luigi's straps.

I wouldn't pay that much for a camera strap. I mean, it's a strip of leather or material with clips at the ends, how much can a $64 one cost to make, more than a $15 Domke Gripper strap? Even Leica's straps don't cost $64 and Leica's accessories are priced out of sync with reality. But the most ridiculously overpriced strap to me is the Voitlander Bessa strap, it costs $40 at B&H and it's made of cloth and doesn't even adjust for length.

The hidden surprise in for those who buy Luigi's cases is that they come with a strap, which is a really amazing product. Yes pricey, but very very nice. It may be a better deal to buy the case and strap together than just buying the strap?

I think it funny that someone who would pay anywhere from $500 to $45,000 for their leica would fuss about spending $65 to prevent the dang thing from falling and shattering on the ground --- it's comfortable -- he is truly the armani of camera straps --- some people think armani and other premium designers are too expensive --- you truly get the highest quality...

I couldn't agree more. If you plan to spend your life savings on Leica gear quality should be a big priority when buying the accys.

I have been seeing his straps, cases, etc for some time on **bay and wondered if they were really quality made. It seems they are..

I don't think I've ever seen anyone say anything bad about Luigi's products, unless of course they've never used them and they're part of that camp that thinks its all overpriced stuff. Everyone who has bought his products admire the quality and enjoy them.
