Not having access to Lenswork, can anyone post an image of how that Lenswork format looks like? The descriptions don't make it very clear to me.
In the cold light of morning it looks the same. Maybe I'm being too critical? Mine shipped from somewhere in Virginia and I think these books are printed as one-offs. If no-one responds to the color issue today I'll start a new thread asking the question - I just don't want to have a zillion threads about the book - we have two already - that's enough.RML said:Ohoh! Are there cracks appearing in the walls? Peter, you just had to ruin my day, right?![]()

To anyone who's reading this without reading my post above - my RFF book has a very slight pink cast in the B&W prints. Anyone else have a similar "discoloration"?

I'm sure they are trying to deliver the best quality product they can and there might be a change in their process that can avoid such colour casts on B/W photos.!
That is German Barreto from Colombia (username: barret).vladhed said:BTW2 - who has the "Juan Valdez" coffee cup lens shade on their Bessa R!! That's hilarious!![]()

peter_n said:Well I got an email response from Lulu support with respect to the slight pink/magenta color cast on the B&W prints in the book. The email is self-explanatory and is cut'n'pasted in its entirety below:
Peter,
We have a color process for printing so black and white are printed by mixing colors. There is a slight shift to red with lighter colors and that is just the process that we have now. There is really nothing that we can do to change this at this time.

Lulu Support
Exactly Gene. Remy's look awesome!GeneW said:Thanks for confirming this, Peter. That's what I thought but wasn't sure. It's like using a home col inkjet printer to print B&W -- hard not to get a slight cast to it.
The B&W photos that fared the best were those in sepia -- I assume because that's a form of col and the printer handles it better.
Food for thought.

No Mike. The focus of my email was "can you fix this going forward for future print orders of this book?" and the answer to that (at least in the short-term) is no. The full text of the email from Lulu is reproduced above.Mike Richards said:Peter,
Did they mention the best way to submit B&W images? Should they be jpeg grayscale or color? What color space? i.e. sRGB or whatever?
