Igor has a handful of M's at decent prices (for 2011), certainly lower than what you'd find on ebay.

People start using more M mount lenses for various digital bodies, M9 included. Many also probably decided they wanted a 35mm body as well; drove up prices.
I have to borrow money to pay for rent and food atm.. I am thinking about leicas and looking for deals so hopefully later in the summer, and back working and not in school. That i can get one.
Do you have a list of sites?
Only in the UK, and the import duties will be prohibitive if you're outside the EU.
Ah, well. I guess I'll look harder for deals around canada/us
The Canon P is a damn good camera, very much like a Leica.
Just a little advise....
Maybe the best Leica right now is a Canon P.

I can't believe that Maybach doesn't have a student discount that makes it as cheap as a '94 Taurus.I remember when I was a starving student that needed a car. Damn those BMW guys for pricing their car so out of my reach.
Deals are there; just remember that an M body is only worth what you're willing to pay for it. Don't just get one because you're worried that prices are going to go up more.
OTOH (shameless plug), I can't seem to find a goggled Summaron for my new M3 for the life of me. If anyone has one, see my WTT/WTB ad in my signature!
Still can't believe I paid $550 for my M5 from Adorama last year. They even had one up in worse condition for $800 only a week later.

Well, when I was in your position (almost), a new graduate, one of the things I did want was a "good" camera, and specifically a Leica. I didn't buy a Leica, would have been an M4-p and I do wish I did. But, I took a lot of really nice photos with my old SRTs until I bought an EOS 10s, and then for another bunch of years until I cured my rangefinder want.
So I think you do have to be patient and follow your plan.
A good P though is an excellent camera, just like a Leica.
But the way i see it is if I get my dream cam, then there is no reason to buy others.. If that makes any sence
