$6595 will be the US price.
Also the MSRP including sales tax in Japan is rumored to be 918,000 yen. I don't know how that will translate to other markets, but Type 240's MSRP is 939,600 yen (inc. tax) so if we assume the figures are correct, M10 will be cheaper than 240 at launch.
I wonder what they'd change for the "budget" variant though. The M262 is lighter, has no video, no live view, black chrome and a cut down menu system. The M10 already has most of that. Don't get me wrong, I'd be frothing at the mouth if they released an M10 with an aluminum top plate to make it even lighter but I wonder if there's enough there to differentiate the models. I *love* the current M262 and that would be my M of choice if I could even afford that but a 262/M10 hybrid would be the bees knees.
i guess they'd remove live view and related electronics, the focus button, swap brass for aluminum, and maybe skip the iso dial.
I doubt they'd skip the ISO dial because they'd have to retool the body. I agree about getting rid of the focus button and aluminum bits though.
I do, and am hanging onto it - pretty much the ideal camera for me, and although I could wish for a more pleasing EVF, this one does the job adequately for my needs. But don't you already have a M240?

You mean that button on the front, next to the lens release button? That's a combo button for focus magnification and exposure compensation (at least on the M240). I configured my M240 this way that I need to press the button on the front and then turn the thumb wheel to change compensation. When I configured it to change compensation with the thumb wheel alone, I experienced random compensation values whenever I took the camera from the shoulder. Getting rid of the front button looks like a loss in usability to me.
If we have to believe the Leica Rumors Japanese price, it will be closer to US$ 8,000. Let's see tomorrow...The Leica M10 price will be $6,595"
Bread? Let them eat cake.At $ 6,595 it'll sell like sliced bread.
I really like the direction this indicates they are taking.
SL is the modern, do everything line and M is pure/retro photographic tool.
I think they are finally starting to get themselves dialed in with their digital offerings.
