Hey, you outbid me! I thought I had it. In fact, I thought I had it for $430 with only a tiny amount of time to go! My maximum was $512 though, and then realised it would make me struggle with buying film while simultaneously avoiding work for some of the Aussie summer. Enjoy it!

OK,

So I have an adapter on my Bessa-T marked "M2 21-35" "LEITZ WETZLAR GERMANY DBP'.

Will using this adapter will bring up the 35mm framelines on my M2 with LTM lenses?

For using with my Canon 50mm F1.2, which Leitz adapter is the one to go with?

Good deal! Great price with a cla already done. I think you will be using the M2 alot more than your Bessa's. You will love it. Have fun!

OK,

So the 21-35 Leitz LTM adapter brings up the 35 framelines on the M2, right?

I have the 35mm f1.7 Ultron and 35mm f2.5 Skopar to use with this adapter.

Rover,

While in college I worked for over a year at Columbus Camera Group. I was able to borrow a MINT Leica M4 and used it for about a month. I think I prefer the M2.

Yeah, this M4 was pretty, and I only bid $250. I could have just put it on my watch list, but funner having $$ at stake and a dream that maybe I will win it for that little.

Ha, I bid on his M4, too. My bid was higher than yours, but equally unlikely to win, as it turned out.

I haven't bought from him yet, but he does answer email questions quickly and courteously, and that's usually a pretty good sign. 🙂

ucky you. Santa Claus may not come for me this year.
Maybe I should take more photos with what equipment I have, and hope Santa will come next year and bring me 28 elmirit and 50 'cron.
Merry christmas to all of you.

I beat the gas in the last minute. I was willing to go up to 750USD for this.
But then I stopped and I thought that in order to end the search I should buy the best camera I afford. So I decided to buy a Ralph Gibson's MP Special Edition. 🙂
And by that you got to take the camera for only 530USD. You gotta thank Ralph Gibson for that.

... it's insurance in case the 2-Bessa-L's, 2-Bessa-R's, and Bessa-T eventually bite the dust.

Shouldn't the Bessas be back up to the M2? That would seem to be the natural order of things...🙂

Dan,
Congratulations! Last summer I bought a well used '59 M2 of about the same S/N on a camera market to use with my collection of FSU lenses. After a thorough CLA - enormous loads of dirt gathered into the mechanics, sait the repairman - it works great. All in all I payed about the same as you did.
Afterwards I couldn't resist and now I have collected a DR-Summicron, a 2,8/35 Summaron and a 2,8/90 Elmarit, all from around '65, and all noticeably better performers than my Soviet lenses.

Stefan,
Make sure and thank Ralph for me!

Ernst,
Yes, the Bessas will surely backup my new M2. Or perhaps I will sell them.

Erik,
Thanks and great photos on your site! Enjoy your M2, as well 🙂

Merry Christmas Everybody,
-Dan

"please let us know your impressions of the seller, as more might come up"

Communication is very good so far, shipping to U.S. with insurance is 35EU. Will report how it all turns out. I'm now having fun looking for goodies to -soup it up-.

Twenty years ago I used this camera for PJ. Now I am returning to it 🙂

Looks like I'll have to wait ten days or so to get the M2 and 50 M adapter that Youxin Ye will send when the post office begins to function. Already have 35 and 90 M adapters from Yuri B of fedka.com. Damn sight safer than eBay -- on which in any case I cannot shop, being in India.
