Hi,
In checking the speeds on my M2, I noticed that the slow speeds are utterly unpredictable. For instance, 1 second could operate twice perfectly, and then sound like 1/250 the next three times. The same with the other slow times. It sounds like the slow timing gears are being bypassed.

Is this just a typical Leica shutter due for CLA, or does it indicate an expensive repair? I bought it used in the fall and have not had it checked.
thanks

Just had my M2 sent off for a CLA to Gerry Smith at Kindermann in Ontario. He did some other maintenance aside from working on the shutter speeds, but my CLA came out to just under $300 CDN.

DAG quoted me about the same for serving in USD some time ago, FWIW.

Sherry Krauter of Golden Touch just upgraded the finder in my M6 .85. She is wonderful as a technician and a very nice person too. Highly reccomended. Sherry only took a couple weeks, DAG would likely take longer but he is very good also. Good Luck, Joe
