There are some people who cannot write off a new M240 on their taxes and I am wondering if those people will have to pay if they order on the phone. At $7k we are talking heavy taxes. I wonder how the folks at B&H feel about this. It will impact sales to non pros. Those of us that can wire it off like myself will not be impacted, but everyone else is in trouble.

All orders will be applied the applicable sales tax according to the area of the country in which you live.

That is too bad

That is too bad

I am one of those who got hammered tax wise this year. I really wish all this tax money really went to helping everyone instead of corrupt deals written by politicians and special interests. If it helped people I would not mind taxes but it seems we are giving more drugs to a drug addict. I see no improvements in education cost, health, etc. Everything is out of pocket with nothing in return, thus I oppose this tax.

It isn't a law, it hasn't passed the house yet. Hopefully it won't.

No taxation without representation!

And yes, until they start spending our money wisely, they should not get a penny more.

PKR, it is the Amerikan way not the American way! Long live the United States of America, not Amerika!!!!

The Senate passed the bill, but it still requires House approval. The argument for it is that it levels the playing field with store retailers, i.e., your local or in-state camera shop, that already has to charge for tax. The argument against comes from small businesses that must shoulder the administrative burden (including variations in state practices), and of course from many Republicans, who oppose any new tax; they hold the House majority. The bill applies to online retailers with sales in excess of $1million.

Education, health, crime, prison over crowding, infrastructure, local government, etc. all of it is declining definitely not improving. I completely agree with you sir.

I won't touch this one except to say that here in California, I've had to pay taxes on out of state purchases for years. This state is so financially upside-down and the fools keep putting the same people back in office. Isn't a republican form of government the kicks?

I heard on the news tonight that phone orders will not be affected. If you guys don't want to pay your taxes, who will you call when your house is on fire? How will you get to work or school with no public roads? Where will you go to school if you can't afford private education? What a bunch of whiners! Pay your taxes and stop complaining.

Organize and attend town hall meetings. Organize and attend protests. Join the volunteer fire department. Join neighbourhood watch. Volunteer at the local food bank. If you do this and pay your taxes you are a saint. If you just pay your taxes you are doing the bare minimum. Like me...

When road works projects are granted to political chums who purposely mismanage these projects so as to double the construction time and cost (and thus double the "fluff" to split between them), I don't want to pay more taxes. When much of the money spent in the education system is spent in administration, construction, and pet projects, all of which generate "fluff", I don't want to pay more taxes. When my tax money is loaned to "green" companies to help them get started, only to see them go bankrupt in a couple of years, I don't want to pay more taxes. When firefighters and lifeguards with no university education (and resulting debts) are paid high 6 figure incomes with full retirement benefits for a 4-day workweek, I am concerned about paying taxes. When I pay federal income tax, state income tax, property tax, capital gains tax, energy tax, sales tax, taxes on all of the utilities I use, highway tolls, license fees, registration fees, etc, I begin to feel a littl overwhelmed. When the current federal tax code is more than God-knows-how-many-pages, and contains upward of 70,000 rules and regulations (!), I am a little concerned. Do I see a need for even more new taxes? I don't think so.

$6 Trillion!

$6 Trillion!

The Iraq war and Afghanistan will cost $6 Trillion when all costs are added including care for injured veterans. Imagine what could have been done with that money not to forget the horrible loss of life. How about the $2 trillion Rumsfeld could not answer for on December 10 2001? Now these bozos want even more. I think enough is enough!

This is just the states trying to collect tax that is already owed. The reason for the new law is that the people who owe the taxes aren't paying. It's not a new tax. It's just state sales tax.

Funny how folks who want loopholes closed for the rich get their shorts in a wad when THEIR loophole may be closed. I am probably one of the most conservative posters on this site, and I think this is fair.

But, if you buy your stuff now, I can't blame you. I'm accelerating a few purchases just in case...

And Joe, if you want to unload any Think Tank stuff, you now how to find me.
