Taxes are now to cover goof ups (unintended consequences) made by politicians and not to 'help the children' as Joe Gobbles said.

And Amazon has reversed course and now supports the bill, probably for reasons that provide advantage over the little guys, as discussed here.

Just wait for when they pass the per click digital tax where every camera will have a built-in transmitter that sends your shutter count directly to the IRS.

BTW, you film users will not be exempt as they will add the same amount of tax to the number of frames on the roll of film.
