M6 Meter Problems?

I've heard some mention of meter circuit failure with some Wetzlar-built M6's.

Anyone on the forum had this problem? My Wetzlar M6's are working just fine.

My early Wetzlar M6 meter circuit failed earlier this year, so I guess you can never say it won't happen. Happily, the parts are still available (though not cheap).

Mine bought new are both still fine. Many reports of problems though.

I did have to replace light shields in both a few years ago.

Two of my earliest M6's (1985/86) had problems with the circuit boards. Another two had no problems. I think it was the luck of the draw. Both failed circuit boards were replaced uner warranty. I still have one of these and it has worked fine since and the other I gave to friend and that has had no problems either (apart from the fact that he frequently drops cameras and it looks a bit battered now!).
