So I didn't realize how dim my focus patch was on my M6 till I got bought a M3. So, where is a good place to get an upgrade. Seems I read someone posted something around the $200.00 range. I had Sherry quote me a price a few weeks ago and she was way higher than $200.00. Any ideas?

Are you talking about how dim the M6 focus patch when it flares or in overall contrast compared to your M3?

The price quoted for an MP upgrade might be the cost in addition to having the camera in for service. The cost for the upgrade alone will most likely be higher.

Contrast compared. I really rarely have a run in with whiteout, flaring issues. Is the contrast difference normal?

If you don't have any flaring issues with the M6 finder, perhaps all you need is a simple cleaning.
I have two M6s - one upgraded and one not. I find the upgraded finder is a tad less contrasty.

Less than 200 usually only in the context of a CLA (that all-together will run more).

In my experience, the contrast is similar between M3 and (not-upgraded) M6. Just the M3 patch is bigger. Make sure that there really is a difference, in a low light situation, before you decide to upgrade. Also, clean the little RF window before you check. (fingerprints on the glass can reduce contrast :) ).

I just had my M6 cla'ed by Sherry. This is her price:
The labour is $220.00, parts $80.00. If doing the MP modification as part of an overhaul, the labour is reduced $50.00.

Thanks all. I think I will just leave mine be. But wow, I really think other than a meter the M3 is a better camera.

Materials age and materials and designs used today are different than yesterday. You won't find a finder today that is exactly like an M3 finder of 50 years ago and in fact you won't find one period because they have all changed to one degree or another.
So decide if your finder is adequate for your uses today.
If not, a cleaning or an upgrade may or may not make a difference.
In terms of the M3 being a 'better' camera, the M3 and M6 both take exactly the same picture with the same lens.-Dick
