Hey im new here,

And I'm definetly going to get a leica m6. I do a lot of street and documentary photography. I was wondering what the difference between the leica m6 and the and the m6 ttl?

I hope you have the time to help me with this thankyou

The M6 TTL's 'TTL' refers only to the TTL flash.

So if you are an available light street photographer and abhor flash (like HCB), both cameras will serve you well. The TTL's are newer obviously.

Welcome to the forum ! 🙂

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. The only other advantage of the TTL is that you can get 3 different viewfibder mags which might help if you wear glasses or have a preference for particular focal lengths.

I wish I had all three. I use a 28 and 50 exclusively so the days I would use two bodies, a .58 and .85 would be the ticket. If one body, of course the .72.

There are some other physical differences too. TTL has a bigger shutter speed dial that turns in the opposite direction of the nonTTL. Also a very minor change in the metering procedure (LEDs in viewfinder) I don't have a TTL so I can't describe it exactly but I think TTL has 3 led's and the nonTTL has 2. TTL body is every so slightly taller. I think nonTTL M6 also had the various VF manifications at the very end of production but the .72 is much more common.
