M6 "showing signs of use"

Interesting. I have a chrome M6 body, purchased new in 1984, early serial number (I think) 170XXXX; red Leitz circle on front. Have used it quite a bit. No deterioration of the finish on any of the surfaces.

Same as me. But is ok. If people don't like M6, it may sell for a lower price someday. 🙂

Not sure why this camera is eliciting such a strong reaction -- surely we've all seen worse? The key is whether it's working OK or not.

Why? Because they bubble and stuff?

Yeah, it's difficult to say if they will all eventually do this or if it's only some of them. The zinc plates were a strange departure for leica IMO.

People used to pack food items in salt to preserve them - salt beef and salt pork were Civil War staples. Perhaps the seller was trying to preserve his M6 using the same principles?

Maybe because there is great likelihood that the camera is gonna have some issues after you buy it . . . Maybe not day 1, but definitely some expensive problems down the road. . .
