M8 Photos

@mingkookoo
Thanks. The CV15 has very accurate color and I don't use a UV/IR filter with it. I tried it when I first got it and it actually messed the color up.

Nice flower shot. Just the right touch of softness and great bokeh.

Very nice photo!

@animefx I really like those.

@ rodl:
Thanks :)

So the ME109 pic was taken without the UV/IR Cut filter and the black color still showed?
I'm a newbie as you know and I use UV/IR Cut filter on all my lens. So Black color will only turns into purple on clothings and soft surface? But on hard surface like metal?

@ animefx:
Thx. Great shot "Cheese Curds", very nice color tone and mood.

It is the 50SummiluxASPH. I'm really loving this lens. Traded in all my Canon L Lens + $ for this one. Ordered it in March and it came last week. The Boken is so nice.

I've found this thread and it shows different 50mm lens with their bokeh render using an M9. I think it's a fantastic info. I know I don't have a M9 but give me a few year and I might be able to get a nice second hand one :)

Cool shots cnphoto! I noticed you deleted your flickr!

thanks! yeah i was playing around with some settings and it killed all of my external image links i had ever created, across any forum or the internet, from Flickr... that was the last straw for me.

fair enough. I think i may get my own website going and get rid of my flickr.
time to get a little more serious than a hobbyist.

you are making me want to add the 50 summicron. I already have the 35 but havent had a chance to test it yet.

did you get the 28 elmarit from foto riesel?

Craig - a pity about the flickr accident :-( hope, you get things sorted again (I use Lightroom, to do the strange uploading stuff and swear, I never touch any export settings and make sure, to read those "are you sure, you want to change settings?" messages twice).
i like the make up shot and the man in coffee shop one!

Here is a post, I accidentally posted in the 50 Lux ASPH thread - all done with my dear M8.2 and mixed lenses (none of them with the 50 Lux ASPH, which collects dust in storage, as it is so good, that it's boring :cool:):

@ visionners:

Thanks. love your little girl crying shot by the way :)

@ menos:

Thanks Dirk :) No love for you M8 lately ;)

Haha - no, actually just not much time for going to shoot much these last weeks.
I even left the M8.2 behind, traveling just with the M9+35/1.4+85/1.8 recently :( but here are a few from the M8.2:

I use the M8.2 now parallel to the M9 - I have zero reservations to use either camera and don't see the M8 as a "lesser, low cost option to the M9".

As it happens, I switch lenses between these two bodies freely and some of my most liked shots from a day end up, just being with the M8.2 :D.

I am really, really happy, I got the M8.2, that grew so dear to me with it's very own patina from my hands, so it just naturally forbids, to sell this wonderful camera.

Here is a very rare one for me - colors!

"Ferrari corner @ Xintiandi | Shanghai" M8.2 | 35/1.4 ASPH on teknopunk.com

This is for me still THE quickest to shoot and best close up ~50ish combo.
The monumental M8+35 Summilux - a combination, I truly loved for it's speed (and compactness). I still use this combo a lot, when having a tele on the M9.

"bomberman" M8.2 | 35/1.4 ASPH

"pilot" M8.2 | 35/1.4 ASPH

I love my M8.2 - it has an edge in sharpness over the M9.
It is MY M8.2 with it's own looks and feel and it will never leave me … I say ;)

@mingkookoo
Yeah, it's the only lens I've tried that seems to not need the UV/IR filter at all. I've got it coded as an Elmarit 21mm.

@cnphoto
Nice work!

@animefx
Thanks! I like the cheese curds shot. What lens?

Dirk, nice shots, particularly the last one. I'm surprised you're using an aspherical 35 as much as you like the older long lenses.

did you get the 28 elmarit from foto riesel?

no i got it from a trade with a friend actually, it's a good lens (esp. considering the cost for a 28 cron). the 50 'cron V3 is a lovely lens too :) for sure, i really enjoy using it on the M8 and the focal length feels good, which surprised me. though - i'd trade it / sell it in a heartbeat if it got me closer to a 50 F1 Noctilux ;)

@ Dirk / menos - yeah i had Aperture auto export folders setup too, then i deleted them from Aperture because i wasn;t using them and it (in turn) deleted all of those photos i had previously uploaded to Flickr but moved to different sets from my Flickr photostream. i've not been a fan of Flickr for quiet a while anyway prior to all of this happening. i still go on FLickr every so often to keep on eye on my contacts photostreams though.

and your Noctilux + M8 photos kill me everytime :( one day, i will have a Noct.

I used the 40mm f/2 M-Rokkor

Possibly my favorite lens ever... Call me crazy but there is just something about it I can't quite put my finger on.

@animefx

Dirk, nice shots, particularly the last one. I'm surprised you're using an aspherical 35 as much as you like the older long lenses.

@ rodl: thanks for the info and really nice render from the Noct V3. Do post some more of the Noct pls :)

@ menos: Dirk, amazing pic of the old man with glasses. Just noticed it's with the Noct F/1 also.

@ cnphoto: Great set with the 50 Cron V3.

Nice shots with the Hektor Dirk. Looks to be sharp but that's a lot of glow.

@k.a Excellent shot with the CV15.
