My M8 won't power up until the shutter release has been depressed a bit. I seem to remember reading about this but after searching I haven't been able to find the thread.
Has anyone else had this problem? Everything does work normally after depressing the release but I'm worried that the problem will progress. The camera is out of warranty and I don't relish the 10 to 12 week turnaround from leica.
Has anyone just lived with this problem?
Is there a quicker repair alternative to Leica?
Thanks...

Yes, I experienced this problem with my M8 -- it's been the only hardware-related problem that I've had.
When I sent the camera in to be upgraded, I had Leica fix it under warranty. No problems since (touch wood).

I considered a shutter upgrade hoping the release problem would be addressed as part of the upgrade... but I went through some recent files and I was surprised how many shots were at 1/6000 and 1/8000.
