How do you find out how many shot the camera did?
Here you go!
Turn the camera on.
Press the right arrow key 4 times.
Press the left arrow key 3 times.
Press the right arrow key 1 more time.
Press the info button.
Scroll down to body debug data.
Press Set.
Scroll down to NUMEXPOSURES.
Turn camera off to exit

I would say it is a good start! Are they all yours or did you get a used M8 like so many of us?
No trouble at all and you can get the lens ID and aperture estimated by the camera as well:That is the first I have heard of that one, is have always used the hexadecimal conversion method. Are there any other useful tidbits accessible in this menu? Can you get into trouble playing around?
