M8 today price?

After saving and waiting awhile. A mint m8 falls into my price range. The seller said it is without scratches and any problems. Comes with a few extra and full box. It's a black and white version. How much would a mint M8 cost ? Just a student and after the while spending money on film and developing photos my own, I realise I don't have much time and money for it. So I'll still be talking film in the future. Should I still get a M8 now ? Any comments are welcome. Thank you.
 
OK. Sorry did not understand. I love mine, works great. I have not shot much film since.
If you have the money, a nice used M8 is worth getting. Repairs can be expensive, so buy from a camera store if possible, most will offer a 30day warr.
 
I just received my M8 last week. So far, so good. It's a very nice tool for photography. Well built, easy to figure out without needing any kind of manual, wonder viewfinder.

I have a Voigtlander R3M. Although I do like the R3M, it feels like a toy compared to the Leica. Even with the 1:1 viewfinder in the R3M, I sometimes find it hard to focus. Whereas the Leica's focusing patch seems easier to see for me for whatever reason.

I also have a Canon 5D II and a Canon EOS 3 (film body).

Between the four cameras, I think the Leica M8 and the EOS 3 are my top two.

Based on my limited experience, I think you'll like the M8.

If I get the M8, I might have to let my M6 go. I know I love my M6. just Uni starting soon and everytime develop a roll of film I need to wait until midnight for my room to dark enough to put it in the reel. I'm afraid I don't have time to develop. Haiz. M6 or M8 🙁

Why not get a changing bag? I got mine for $15 from Adorama and it works great. Then you can develop any time of day. Using a changing bag, each roll takes about half an hour start to finish for me. Develop two rolls in a single tank and save even more time.
 
I think getting an M8 will save you a lot of time spent developing and scanning, however M8 does have a lot of weird perks of its own (mostly IR filters and weird colours). The ISO quality is also quite subpar at anything above 640 which will probably drive you mad buying lots of fast glass and shooting everything at f1.4 just to get enough light in.

I would probably try to save up a little more and get a used M9, which is still an excellent camera by today's standards. Even after using M8, M9 and M240 extensively, the M6 still feels really awesome to shoot with.

I paid a little more than the $1700 suggested earlier. But I knowingly paid a premium over what some people spend for two reasons. First, I bought from Adorama because of their very liberal return policy giving me piece of mind I can return it without any hassle or questions if what I received was not up to snuff. And second, the one I got has the grip on it. I don't know what a used grip would go for by itself or if its easy to find second hand. I don't know enough about the M8 to know whether there is any price difference between the all black model and the silver one, but mine is all black. I hope that helps you in some way.
 
$ varies w/ desperation of the seller and the buyer as well as the age and actuations on the camera. The range I have seen is $1750-$2200.

going totally cheap isn't always wise if the camera needs work. a warranty of some sort is a wise investment on digital rigs.

BTW: I would not pay more than $1900 for low actuation (<7500) camera. I think that's a fair deal both ways.
 
I think you got the M8 at a good price esp. when the grip (used) which on its own is $149 from B&H.

A 30-day warranty is pretty much useless, if you test the camera before buying. A 30-month warranty is worth some money.
