M8 used with capture one LE

ear All,

I'm about to buy a 2nd hand M8 but i have a question with the software that
come with the M8, Am i going to have a problem using the software? cause the previous owner might registered their copy of the software and that might make me can't use the software (i'm not sure that my assumption is correct or not since this must be sth about copy right, i guess, may be i'm just worry too much)

does anyone who buy the 2nd M8 be able to use the software without any problem? pls. advice

I would count on the software having already been registered, if it has not then it will be a bonus.

Capture One don't have the ability/wish to transfer licences (when I asked, November 2009).

If you can't use the Capture One LE that came with the M8, the only downside will be not being able to download free v.4. I tried LE when I got my M8 and it wasn't very user-friendly. It was applying sharpening that I couldn't seem to find a way to turn off. It wasn't until they let me download v.4 free that I gave it another try (only because David Farkas gave me his home-made color profile for C1) and stuck with it.

Until I got v.4 I was very happy using ACR in Photoshop. I have CS2, but I'm pretty sure the recent versions of Elements have the same ACR built-in. You probably have something it came with, if not it's not very $$.

I received a registered copy as well with my used M8. I liked how it handled most of the files I've processed with it, but it is a bit clunky and it would only process raw (jpgs, tiff's are grayed out when shown - unless I'm missing something...).

So for that I have decided on Lightroom 3 when it comes out because as a digital workflow package it'll take care of most all of your PP, cataloging, tagging etc needs and so far the beta version has shown (to me...) to be user friendly and easy to understand without too much effort (on my part). Plus I like what it can do processing wise it's very versatile and powerful.

*One thing to consider is that C1 is $129 and LR is$299
