M9 does action on the streets of Bangkok Thailand...very easily

To be more specific: I shoot a lot at midday and find that when the sky is not overcast, the light is so bright that the red diodes for the lightmeter in the viewfinder on the M9 are not bright enough and become invisible. Looking at the M6 in the same situation, the diodes are much brighter and remain visible in such light.

Um I see but thats not really a Thai light thing, but more of a Leica thing as that happens in any kind of light. Seeing I don't use the light meter i can't comment as I don't take notice of it. We should meet up some time when I'm in Bangkok next Mitch. Been seeing your work from back in the day on photo.net...am I right?

Yes, you're right Kristian. I seem to recall you're in Oz. Send me a PM next time you're in Bangkok.

No it's not a Thai thing, just a bright light issue. I guess Jaap wrote it that way because I had written about the bright light in Thailand.

Leica had told me that no one else had this issue, but it was winter in Europe then. I found it very annoying and the LEDs were much dimmer than on my M6. Actually, the LED brightness on the M9 LED is adjusted automatically for ambient light. Perhaps they have set it too low because of battery issues.

No worries I usually work there once a year, this year maybe not due to the previously passed issues but hope to be there before year end all going well. BTW, I'm not based in LA
