as to soccer, i was more worried that it would go 4:0 for the spaniards - so many close opportunities during the game. anyhow, as the german coach put it, the spanish national team has been playing together for 3ish years. the german team - at least the young majority - has been together for around 6 weeks. 1:0 for spain is pretty respectable IMHO from that point of view, and many of them will still be around for 2014.

the three characters, according to all the Sharp engineers in nara, should sound like "peterson", my family name. the objective was to get good looking, good sounding, meaningful characters for me for a hanko (spelling?), the little red stamp used in japanese companies as a signature or authorization. it was fun developing, and the asahi brewery profits went up for the month. :)

I prefer black and got black...+ it goes with my black 'thumbs up' and my famly won't notice the difference between the M9 and my old black M8.
Resale wise, if you sold, you may get more for a gray down the line.
 
black body with silver lens and olive or brown strap = sexy.

id get the black m9, grip is better, $200 wont be a huge issue and you seem to prefer it, so go for it. the silver m9 would look weird with chrome lenses anyway...

Leica M9 with Konica Hexanon 50mm f/1.2 limited lens with grey thumbs up. Also added a Tiffen HT titanium color filter to match as I don;t use the ridiculously large hood.

Such a nice combo, and I'm super impressed with the lens! You should try the Tiffen filter if you don't shoot with the hood. Doesn't match 100% but is close enough.

The silver filter looks good. I had a IR filter on it for the M8 tlll I sold it and I have never used the hood - it looks great but it is huge!

I am really glad I got the grey over the black, I had less wait and the color is different from anything I have had before.
 
can i know where did you get that grey thumbs up from?

man, my budget is for M9 next year... i can't sit still.

I have 2 Black M6's, but went for a steel gray M9. I really like the look and my black lenses feel very sexy on it so they tell me. If i could get it (with full warranty) for USD 200 less I would take it.
 
Black. I have a black M6 and a gray M8 and I notice that the gray m8 is a lot less stealthy than a black one. I am actually considering trading in my gray m8 for a black one.
